In March 2019, the Council of Australian Governments and the National Coalition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peak Organisations signed the Partnership Agreement on Closing the Gap. The Partnership Agreement is guiding the development of the new National Agreement on Closing the Gap, which is able to set out priorities over the next ten years. Detailed directions for sending a range of bugs and vegetation are available (for WA residents and specimens only) on the sending specimens for identification page. There are others corresponding to purple imported fire ant, browsing ant and electric ant that threaten WA from interstate and abroad, mainly via ports of entry (air and sea).
